Right, they've had to replace the server, so I'm basically left with a base debian install (old version) that I'm going to have to upgrade, configure and restore from backups.
Today happens to be my last day at my current job, so I'm going to be super-busy with other stuff.
They have finally got back to me asking for the root password to investigate.

Have emailed the colo yet again for an update - will post here if I get a reply. Really quite annoyed about this.

Backup is now restoring to the new server. It's restoring from my ADSL (and it's 9Gb), so will be a while.
ReplyDeleteLooks like we have data in the backup up to 2010-02-24 00:49:30, so we haven't lost more than an hour or so.
